Dr. Shyamal Munshi has been in private practice as a Plastic Surgeon for the last 12 years. He received his M.Ch. degree from K. M. School of Postgraduate Medicine and Research in 1993. Thereafter, Dr. Shyamal Munshi visited the U.S. for further training in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. He spent considerable time at the renowned Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, Baltimore and Kleinert Institute, Louisville, where he attended clinics, took training courses and grasped special surgical techniques of expert surgeons. Dr. Munshi also had one to one learning experience with expert and eminent cosmetic surgeon Dr. Arumugam at Chicago and renowned surgeon Dr. Venkatswami at Chennai, during which he imbibed the finer aspects of plastic surgery.
His Plastic Surgery practice includes both cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries. His cosmetic surgery work includes procedures to minimise the effects of ageing, to redefine undesirable facial features, to re-sculpt the body and procedures like hair transplantation, scar revision etc.
His reconstructive surgery work includes patients with congenital defects and lesions, burns deformities and contractures, maxillofacial injuries and defects, post-traumatic and post-surgical defects, hand injuries and defects. Dr. Munshi is always keen to acquire knowledge, to sharpen his skill and to keep pace with the recent advances through his exposure to the great mentors, teachers and internationally renowned surgeons and participation in various training programs and conferences.
